Legion Log

The Devil's Dozen is the name of the super-criminal group formed by Prince Evillo on the planet Tartarus. He intended to gather together eleven super-powered evil-doers like himself in order to make Tartarus the ruling seat of the galaxy. With this in mind, he intended to have a mix of magic, might, and science.

Unfortunately for Prince Evillo, he and his half-Dozen came upon the Legion before they were completely formed. The group did not have an opportunity to work on its teamwork. Weakened by in-fighting and Evillo's lack of faith in them, the Devil's Dozen were easily captured by the Legion.

Besides Prince Evillo and the Hagwho have their own entries, the other known members were:

Apollo, who had an almost magical control of all humanoid females. His charismatic power was so strong that he was even able to weaken the will of Saturn Girl. He is not to be confused with the Greek god of the same name.

Sugyn, who was able to drain any source of water dry, storing the water for an indefinite period of time until he would release it as a powerful water-spout. When he failed to capture an actual Legionnaire, Prince Evillo used his magic horns on him, sending him into "Darkness." It was later revealed that Phantom Girl had once defeated him on Rimbor with the help of Ultra Boy shortly before he become a member of the Legion.

Wild Huntsman, who was a centaur armed with several fantastic weapons, such as an unbreakable elastic lasso and a storm horn capable of creating wind storms. He is not to be confused with the Global Guardian of the same name.

Dr. Zan Orbal, who was the royal physician on the planet Tartarus, and as such, was an early subject of Prince Evillo's genetic experiments. Although tasked with creating mutant criminals for Evillo's super-group, Dr. Orbal secretly sabotaged all of these efforts. When given Legionnaires to experiment on, Dr. Orbal actually re-grew Lighting Lad's missing arm, eliminated Matter-Eater Lad's excess weight, and restored Bouncing Boy's bouncing powers.

After the so-called Five-Year Gap, aside from Prince Evillo and the Hag, only Sugyn's fate is known. Having been thrown into darkness, he is a prisoner of Tartarus until Matter-Eater Lad shows up and recruits him to help destroy Evillo's power. Tenzil Kem would rope him into another mission against Evillo later, during which Sugyn was instrumental in taking down a giant Eyeful Ethel.

The Devil's Dozen is assembled in neither the Reboot nor the Threeboot.

After Infinite Crisis, the Devil Dozen's original history has presumably been more or less restored.
