Who's Who: The Mess

The Mess
by Russell & Siskoid

Real Name: Meyer Qayd
Super-Power(s): Ability to attract dust and dirt
Planet of Origin: Earth
Relationship to Legion: Legion applicant

Legion Log
The Mess appeared at the open call for new Legionnaires. However, his ability to attract dust and dirt to himself, without any ability to control it, did not earn him a spot on the roster.

The Mess' real name and background information were not revealed in his one appearance.

The Mess resembles the character "Pig-Pen" from the comic-strip PEANUTS by Charles Schulz. According to peanuts.com, Pig-Pen made his debut on July 13, 1954. The Mess appeared in March 1965.

The Mess does not reappear in comics continuity either in the original, Reboot, or Threeboot timelines.

After Infinite Crisis, The Mess' original history has presumably been more or less restored.

The Mess makes a background appearance in "The Substitutes", an episode of the Legion of Super-Heroes animated series, where he is a Legion applicant.

  1. Such a pity he wasn't better looking. He then could've called himself "The Hot Mess". :D (Oh, I know, that was too easy.)

  2. What, me messy? Definitely has an Alfred E. Neuman vibe about him.
