LSH Cover to Cover 1: Curt Swan

We're starting a new series this week here at Legion of Super-Bloggers that we will be featuring on a semi-regular basis: we are going to feature all of the cover-featured appearances of the Legion, in chronological order!

Now, from their first appearance in Adventure Comics #247 (April 1958) until they were finally given a regular feature in Adventure Comics with #300 (Sept 1962) they were predominantly guest-stars.  So for example, although they appeared in Action Comics #267, they did not appear on the cover. So that story will not be featured here. And although they did appear in every issue of Adventure Comics from #300 until #380, there were still a few issues where they did NOT appear on the cover! This happened especially often in the beginning of their career, as you will see below.

For their first ten cover appearances the Legion was illustrated by the late great Curt Swan. Inking was by Stan Kaye at the beginning, and then George Klein later. As an extra-special addition we have included Superman #147...which doesn't actually cover-feature the Legion...well, not *our* Legion...!
