Who's Who: Holdur

Holdur
by Russell & Siskoid

Real Name: Hald Atovio
Super-Power(s): Super grip
Planet of Origin: Earth
Relationship to Legion: Villain

Legion Log
Holdur made his debut appearance along with the cosmic super-villain Pulsar Stargrave. He and Quicksand were companions of a sort to Stargrave, who did not seem to need an army to do his bidding.

Holdur exhibited super-speed and agility, but an acute shortage of intellect. Using the advantage of surprise, he was able to get the drop on several Legionnaires.

Holdur was definitely more of a "yes-man" than Quicksand. Compared to her, Holdur was much more likely to speak without thinking. For thatm Holdur was called a fool by both Stargrave and Quicksand.

No origin or real name was ever given for Holdur in any of his actual appearances; however, we did learn that Holdur knew and feared Mordru.

During the so-called five-year gap, Holdur was one of Earth's meta-humans captured, experimented on, and used by the Dominators. When Earth's secret overlords left the planet, he was taken into custody, presumably for deprogramming.

In the Reboot, Holdur and Quicksand are again partners. Working as assassins, they meddle in the affairs of the twin planets of Dagosk and Dabron, and are apprehended by Leviathan and XS.

In the Threeboot, Holdur does not appear to exist.

After Infinite Crisis, Holdur's original history has presumably been more or less restored.
