Mojai Desai became famous worldwide as one of the three candidates for President of Earth after lame duck President Allon stepped down. The Khunds threatened to assassinate "the President of Earth" and dispatched warriors to each of the candidates' homes and to President Allon's official residence. At that time we saw Desai's home, a luxurious air-ship floating over the megalopolis of Hyperbad, on the Indian sub-continent.

Desai's assassination by a Khund was foiled by Wildfire. Later that night, Desai won the election. From that point, Universo (posing as trusted friend Vid-Gupta) began to exert more and more mental control over Desai. Within two years of his inauguration, Desai was under the complete control of Universo. Earth shut itself off from the rest of the United Planets and the Legion was disbanded.

Thanks to the efforts of four individual Legionnaires - Saturn Girl in particular - Universo's plot was revealed and he was taken into custody. From that point, Desai was freed from Universo's hypnotic control and resumed his Presidential term.

The last time we saw President Desai, he fired Science Police Chief Zendak and replaced him with Mars Unit Chief Gigi Cuisomano. There was no word on how Desai's cabinet dealt with the Magic Wars that occurred near the end of his term.

The Indian Sub-Continent traditionally consists of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Our assumption is that Desai's home of Hyperbad is the 30th-Century extension of the current Pakistani city Islamabad.

Mojai Desai did not appear in the Reboot, nor Threeboot.

After Infinite Crisis, Mojai Desai's original history has presumably been more or less restored.
