Recap: Lyrissa Malor is dead. The heart of the team has been murdered by her own daughter. The one person who could temper Vril Dox's dark side and keep the team united in the face of his more cold-blooded tendencies is gone. Brainwashed by the Computer Tyrants of Colu, her daughter Lydea was convinced her mother was evil and had to be destroyed. The last issue ended with a vision of Lyrissa passing away, but some readers likely hoped it was misleading and she would recover. That was not to be.

Recap: Lyrissa Mallor's daughter arrived on Cairn intent on killing her mother because she had been brainwashed by the Computer Tyrants of Colu. A psychic flash alerted the team to their battle but by the time they arrived they were too late. They attacked Lydea but Phase inadvertently caused some sort of energy burst that knocked everyone unconscious. While everyone was in mourning over Lyrissa's death, Stealth stole a ship to get away from Dox because she was sick of how he has treated her during her pregnancy. Although the team believed Lyrissa to be dead, we learned that she had lived but was barely clinging to life. In a rare display of emotion, we also saw Dox watching over her in the medical bay, barely holding back tears.

Are you ready for the weirdest team-up in Legion history? Here's a story that no one ever thought could happen, with DC's two major "futures" coming into contact for the first (and until the Crisis, only) time. Karate Kid was just trying to return to the 30th Century, but somehow he lands in the Great Disaster. Now he's involved with the Last Boy on Earth, as he and Kamandi are co-starring in a movie for a bunch of lobsters....!?! Read on, McDuff!

Recap: In Adventures of Superman Annual #2, Vril Dox and Lar Gand travelled to Earth to find his father, the evil Brainiac. Due to faulty controls, they lost control of their ship and clipped an airliner on the way down. Superman saved the plane, but Dox's ship crashed into the ocean, and eventually, into an underground tunnel of Project Cadmus. The rest of L.E.G.I.O.N. followed in a separate ship, and were met by Superman. He was suspicious they were allied with Brainiac and offered to help them find their friends.  They found Lar Gand fighting the hero Guardian, who mistook Vril Dox for his father. While they fought, the telepathic director of Cadmus, Dubblix, was possessed by Brainiac and forced to sabotage the project's reactor. Superman and the L.E.G.I.O.N. realized that they should not be fighting, and Superman and Lar Gand got the reactor out just in time. In L.E.G.I.O.N. Annual #1, the team tracked Brainiac to Colu. The villain used ape-like beasts that were really mutated Coluans to defeat the L.E.G.I.O.N., and he placed Vril on trial with his teammates serving as the jury. After being forced to share their true thoughts about Dox, they judged him guilty, but Dox was able to free himself and his teammates from his father's control. Superman joined them in battle against Brainic but they soon discovered that they were merely fighting a mental projection and that he had escaped. Meanwhile, the team had also discovered that Vril used his enhanced charisma program on the Coluans, and neither Superman nor the L.E.G.I.O.N. were happy about it.

LEGION TOYS: DC Direct Pocket Superheroes

DC Direct Pocket Superheroes isn't necessarily a line of figures I was interested in when they were initially released back in 2001. However, since it's rare for Legionnaires to get action figure representation at all, I decided to acquire them for review and display purposes. I figured not only would these be fun to display with their larger counterparts in photo shoots, but would make a worthwhile review for the LEGION TOYS segment here on the Legion of Super-Bloggers!

Happy New Year 2020!

Welcome to the Future!

Dream Girl stopped by to wish all of us here in the United Planets a very Happy New Year! Although she knows what is in store for us, she still hopes that we manage to have a safe and healthy 2020!

While Dream Girl was in the 21st Century she also let us know a few things she sees happening on the Legion of Super-Bloggers in 2020. And as you know, Dream Girl's visions are never wrong....!
