Simply Amazing!

The Amazing World of DC Comics was DC Comics' self-produced fan magazine of the mid-1970s. Running 17 issues, the fanzine featured articles about DC characters and their creators, and was exclusively available through mail order. The bulk of the issues were edited by Allan Asherman, replaced later by Paul Levitz and then Cary Burkett. Individual issues were edited by Bob Rozakis or long-time Legion fans Carl Gafford and Neal Pozner.

Primarily consisting of text pieces, with occasional strips and comics features, Amazing World (AWODCC, for short) was printed on high quality paper with heavy stock for the covers. Amazing World in its seventeen issues featured several articles on and about the Legion. For awhile it even featured an exclusive column about the group, named The Legion Outpost (the same name as the fanzine, but not directly related).

Legion Cruiser circa 2976

Dave Cockrum introduced the fleet of sleek Legion Cruisers during his tenure as artist. A few years later, writer Jim Shooter and artist Mike Grell provided the following schematic for them. (Superboy/Legion #219)

Legion HQ circa 2984

In Tales of the Legion of Super-Heroes #320 DC provided the following diagram of the Legion's head-quarters as it existed circa 2984. As far as I know it was not destroyed for another five plus years, so this should be "current" for the rest of the Baxter series, atleast.

The artists on that issue were Dan Jurgens and Karl Kesel. However, when the same diagram was re-printed in Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe (vol 13), the art was credited to Keith Giffen and Larry Mahlstedt.

My favorite part of this is the note on the right saying that no Legionnaire wanted to have living quarters near Brainiac 5's laboratory. Too funny!
