Who's Who: Fenton Pike

Fenton Pike
by Russell & Siskoid

Real Name: Fenton Pike
Super-Power(s): None
Planet of Origin: Earth
Relationship to Legion: Villain

Legion Log
Fenton Pike was a janitor who worked for the Science Police. When he was unable to become an SP officer, he decided to blackmail the city of Metropolis. If the city did not pay his ransom, he threatened to destroy it via a hidden Magno-Bomb. He boasted that he had ties to the Science Police, and that his bomb would self-destruct if it was disturbed.

The Legion therefore concocted a complex strategy to locate the hidden explosive using Tyroc's voice power à la sonar, and to not tell the city or the Science Police of their activities. As Tyroc flew around the city, he secretly sang at a frequency no one else could hear, sending out "pings" that eventually found the bomb. He eventually located the bomb at a travel agency and was able to dispose of it. Then Pike was tracked down via his fingerprints in the SP database, and was captured by Superboy and Ultra Boy. Why Tyroc had to pretend to be a menace in order to throw shade on his activities remains a mystery.

Later, Fenton Pike reappeared with another threat to destroy Metropolis. This time, wearing stolen body armor, Pike short-circuited the control panels of Metropolis' fusion power-sphere, destabilizing it and causing it to become dangerously over-powered. It threatened to explode and destroy the entire city. Chemical King and Phantom Girl were able to re-stabilize the power-sphere, and Brainiac 5 was able to deduce where Pike would hide to escape the blast. Ultra Boy and Timber Wolf were on hand to knock him out and capture him again.

Fenton Pike does not reappear, in any continuity.

After Infinite Crisis, Fenton Pike's original history has presumably been more or less restored.
