Happy New Year 2018!

Happy New Year Legion fans!
With the passing of another year, we wanted to take a moment and thank all of you for continuing to join us in celebrating the Legion. This is a special time for the team as they first appeared in Adventure Comics #247, which went on sale February 27, 1958. This means of course that the Legion is just about to hit its 60th anniversary.

It is both frustrating and exciting to be a Legion fan right now. As of this writing, there remains no ongoing title from DC and no plans for one have been announced. They are not forgotten though and have continued to appear sporadically in other titles.
And with several high profile creators having recently moved from Marvel to DC, one hopes the likelihood of getting a new ongoing series may have increased. Certainly the prospect of reviving such a classic DC franchise has to be enticing for some of them. At the very least, it is hard to imagine that story pitches are not being made. Opinions may vary, but personally, getting a great Legion comic is more important than getting a Legion comic right now.

Things are looking more positive in the live action realm with both Saturn Girl and Brainiac 5 having been cast on CW's Supergirl show. Saturn Girl is played by actress Amy Jackson, and Brainiac 5 by actor Jesse Rath. They join Mon-El who was introduced last season.
I think it's safe to say we can expect more Legion-related casting announcements in the near future on this show. Hopefully, we can also look forward to seeing Supergirl fly around the Metropolis or National City of the 31st Century soon.

Here at the blog, we are excited to be entering our fourth year of exploring the Legion's rich 60-year history with you. Obviously, none of us would be here if we did not enjoy discussing the Legion, but it would be pretty pointless without the greater community of fans coming along. So, thank you, and here's to making 2018 another great year here at the Legion of Super-Bloggers!

Long Live The Legion!
